My path from composition to classical improvisation and jazz
We live in a time that produces new ideas and new actions. A lot of things are changing radically and will continue to change:
the wheel some times turns quickly and in unpredictable directions...
A lot has changedin my work too!
For me it is nolonger true to put music into the familiar categories such as classical, jazz, improvisation or composition.
That doesn't make much sense to me. I'm more looking for connection, because for me the essence of music is liveliness.
I sense a similar atmosphere in many places / among many musicians. It is increasinglyabout the question:
“How can we connect instead of digging trenches?”
And for me personally the question is important: “Whatdoes my inner voice want to tell me?
Where does she want to take me?”
That's how I came to the music of the moment.
By this I mean the search for the flow and the sound of the moment - the way it wants to manifestitself.
The sound worlds that emerge are diverse; sometimes they evoke associations with Bachor Telemann,
sometimes with memories of Alban Berg, jazz or Latin…
(And you see: you quickly go back to the comparisons if you want to describe it.)
This music only wants one thing – it wants to beexperienced and enjoyed with all the senses.
Amazing things happen when you let the reins slide and release the handbrake.
Whether I'mplaying the organ, the synthesizer or the piano; the moment with these lively sounds is a pleasure!!
And personally, I get into the flow more this way than if I spend a lot of time atthe computer and write complicated scores.
I increasingly wanted to have easier access to liveliness. Just flowing - laborious scooping, that's no longer my thing.
What's important to me is how the moment sounds and what the magic is in it.
In order to feel and reproduce this, you need full concentration on the moment.
There were also some triggers for this process and events in my life that changed my perspective.
That's why I held off on concerts at first, Iwanted to let the change happen.
The new!
I'm going to play with sounds that are completely new on the one hand, but very familiar on the other -
but that doesn't really describe it. I'm going to look for a new mix on organ, piano and synthesizer.
The gate to many new and amazing things is open.
Much joy to you!
